Mrs. Smith

Welcome to Kindergarten!

I’m very excited to start a new adventure with each of you!

A little about myself…I grew up in Osage County as a graduate from Fatima High School in 2003. I then went to UCM and graduated with a duel major of Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. After graduation, I worked as a paraprofessional for 4 and a half years for JCPS mainly with children diagnosed with ASD. I then worked as a 4th grade teacher for Osage R-I for 3 years. During my time in Chamois, I learned that children are truly at a disadvantage when there is a lack of knowledge and decided to be a change by furthering my education. I then went on to a new career path while starting my first semester of grad school and started working Preschool for Linn Head Start. This is where I found my true passion and what brought me here to Sacred Heart School. This is my eighth year here at Sacred Heart School. I am currently finishing up my masters degree in Special Education with a concentration of Autism.

I am married with two beautiful children. My son, Connor, is 11 years old and my daughter, Clara, is 7 year old.

I love to go fishing, hunting, and working on my family’s cattle farm. I have enjoyed passing on my favorite past time activities with my children and look forward to seeing my daughter join the show ring for the first time at our next county fair with her very first market steer.
